Coming in Short Tales

Topics for the Coming Issues

Breeder and Sales Ethics Are these questions we should be considering? What do you think?

Tightening the Breed Standard.
Should we require that rams born in the Spring be triplets and that Fall born rams be twins?
Which is better, a sextuplet from a ewe that raises three lambs or a quad from a ewe that raised all four unassisted?
Do we want Finns to be thought of as mothers of many lambs or as sheep that can bring all their lambs from birth to weaning without supplementation? There are good arguments for both views.
How can the breed standard be improved? Or is it fine as it is?

Deadline for Ads and Articles

Okay, I've learned my lesson. I THOUGHT a deadline was that point in time BEFORE WHICH articles were supposed to come in. I've learned that it's the day about a week AFTER WHICH articles start coming in. ;-)

So let's leave it like this: We'd like to send out the next newsletter around May 14 or so. If you could get your stuff to us around May 1, it has a much higher chance of getting included. Send hard copy to Rock House Farm, 8391 Langhorne Road, Scottsville VA 24590. All submisisons become our property unless other arrangements are made in advance. We much prefer e-mail copy, MUCH! send it to rock_house@Compuserve.com
